It’s a rewarding opportunity to help shape a child’s learning and development in their early school journey.⭐ The RoleProvide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism in KS1Use visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines to support engagement and communicationEncourage positive social interaction and help develop emotional regulation in a nurturing settingSupport the pupil with intimate care needs when requiredWork closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support strategiesFoster independence and confidence through patient, creative guidance✅ About YouExperience supporting children with Autism or SEND (essential)Comfortable supporting children with personal and intimate care needsFamiliarity with PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication methods (advantageous)Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to support and behaviour managementAble to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents🌱 Desirable ExperiencePrevious work as a KS1 TA, EYFS practitioner, or SEND Teaching AssistantRelevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalentUnderstanding of the KS1 curriculum and early childhood development
