Software Engineering Solutions Architect (AWS & Python) Location: Near Heathrow Airport (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week) Salary: Circa £110,000 + BenefitsAbout Us We are a specialist consultancy with a strong software engineering focus, delivering innovative, scalable, and future-proof solutions to clients across multiple sectors. Our team thrives on solving complex technical challenges, and we are now looking for a seasoned Solutions Architect with deep expertise in AWS and Python to help drive forward our next phase of growth and innovation.The Role As a Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in bridging our clients' business needs with robust, efficient, and secure cloud-native solutions. You will lead the design and implementation of software platforms and architectures, ensuring they are optimised for performance, scalability, and long-term value.Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with clients to understand requirements, define solutions, and deliver architectural designs.
  • Develop and oversee end-to-end software architectures leveraging AWS cloud services.
  • Provide technical leadership across full project lifecycles, from design to implementation.
  • Deliver hands-on development and solution prototyping, primarily using Python.
  • Ensure best practices in cloud security, scalability, and cost optimisation.
  • Mentor and collaborate with engineering teams to uphold technical excellence.
About You You are a confident communicator and technical leader, capable of translating business challenges into actionable software designs. You are equally comfortable architecting large-scale systems as you are writing code to validate a solution.Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, ideally within consultancy or client-facing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, architecture patterns, and cost/security optimisation.
  • Excellent Python skills, with experience applying them to large-scale production systems.
  • Background in software engineering best practices: CI/CD, testing, code quality, and DevOps principles.
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), or serverless technologies.
  • Exposure to other languages/technical stacks for flexibility in solution design.
