Role: Mental Health Youth Support WorkerLocation: Birmingham City Centre, easily commutable by public transport.A secondary school in Birmingahm is looking for a Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join its team to provide support for both academic and emotional needs. The school is homed to children of all background, from ages 11-16 and they are looking for someone who is caring and compassionate to work on a 1:1 basis with a group of their students.Roles and Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the students.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Building strong relationships with students to establish trust and rapport.
  • Promoting positive behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress.
Qualifications:While no specific qualifications may be required for this role, having a background in education, psychology, or related fields can be advantageous. A genuine passion for helping students with SEMH needs achieve their full potential is a very important quality we look for, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt the unique needs of each student.
