This role is to join our dynamic team based in our vibrant, centrally located Bristol office.You will be delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the private and public sector; including education, custodial, defence, healthcare, leisure, data and commercial.Joining a supportive network as part of a national team, you can expect to receive valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector, managing various contracts throughout.
  • Preparing designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents.
  • Carrying out building analysis and providing system design calculations.
  • Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.
Find out what it is like to work at Pick Everard here:About YouOur ideal Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) must have:
  • HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical) or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or working towards this status.
  • Significant experience in mechanical building services/HVAC design, including domestic water services, ventilation, heating, and cooling.
  • Strong working knowledge of IES, Hevacomp, and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including UK Building Regulations, as well as Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM.
  • In-depth understanding of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
  • Proven design skills across a range of sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and self-motivated approach.
  • Experience in resource planning and management.
  • Business development experience and the ability to build strong client relationships.
