CMM Operator - Wellingborough - £24.75/hr (6am - 2pm) and £26.10/hr (2pm - 10pm) - Outside IR35Step into a role where precision meets innovation!   • Operate Zeiss and Mitutoyo CMM equipment to perform precise measurement, inspection, and testing of machined components such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and structural BIW parts.
  • Use pre-prepared inspection programmes and mount fixtures and products onto the CMM bed with appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Conduct product measurements as part of inspection criteria for parts at specified intervals, including validation after start-up, breakdowns, or adjustments.
  • Support new product prove-out processes, ensuring all measurements meet strict quality standards.
  • Utilise additional measurement tools such as surface measurement devices, height gauges, and bore gauges to ensure comprehensive inspections.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with interdepartmental teams to uphold quality and safety standards.
What You Will Bring:
  • Experience operating CMM measuring machines, ideally with Zeiss (Calypso) and Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS) systems. Will consider other CMM machines.
  • Solid knowledge of metrology and experience using other gauging equipment.
  • Background in precision manufacturing environments such as automotive or aerospace industries.
  • Vocational qualifications in engineering (BTEC National, ONC, or higher) are advantageous but not essential.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and reliability.
