Salary: £50,000OverviewA vacancy has arisen for a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager (Maternity Cover) to join a large, fast-paced site in Carmarthen. Reporting to the Site Director, with a dotted line to the UK Head of Health & Safety, this role offers both operational and strategic responsibility, supporting the leadership team to deliver key safety and environmental objectives. - Provide expert support and guidance on all Health, Safety, Fire, and Environmental legislation, ensuring legal compliance across site operations.
- Lead risk assessments, accident investigations, and the development of safe working practices to reduce incidents and promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor and report on site HSE performance, maintaining accurate data, supporting audits, and recommending practical improvements.
- Deliver and coordinate health and safety training, ensuring training matrices are up to date and refresher sessions are completed.
- Manage RIDDOR reporting, emergency procedures, and statutory compliance, including machinery safety and contractor controls.
- Support environmental compliance, including ISO audit readiness, permit monitoring, and liaison with relevant authorities.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a Health & Safety Managerial role, preferably in Food Manufacturing.
- NEBOSH General Certificate minimum
- Have a good commercial approach to managing business risk.
- Good negotiating and self-organisation skills.
- Ability to produce detailed reports and numerical information.
