Town PlannerRPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for a Town Planner to join our Planning Team, to be based in Birmingham or Manchester (hybrid). This is a key role within our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team, who work collaboratively with our Environment Division.Working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary services and within a team of planning experts, you will be helping to deliver on a broad range of planning applications including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, retail, logistics and major infrastructure projects and helping to promote key strategic sites through the Local Plan process.The planning service is at the heart of our business, and this role will give you the opportunity to join a stable team within a successful and long-established planning consultancy. This is predominantly in the sectors of residential, industrial and renewables. You will assist in the preparation and project management of strategic applications, work on the preparation of representations to Local Plan consultations and develop planning strategies to promote land and development to ensure successful outcomes for clients. Tasks will include:
  • Supporting Planning Directors' in successfully delivering their planning caseload, including preparing Planning Statements and representations to Local Plan consultations.
  • Developing your written and oral communication skills
  • Supporting with our business development initiatives and building your own profile
  • Actively supporting our Assistant Planners, Graduates and Apprentices
  • Contributing / engaging in our Prospects Planning Group
