We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gas Engineer to support our ongoing projects in Birmingham. This role is offered on a contract basis, paying up to £600 per day via an umbrella company. The ideal candidate will not only have strong technical capabilities in gas systems but also bring expertise in quality planning, assurance, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:
Gas Engineering Duties:
Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances and central heating systems.Conduct diagnostics and fault-finding on domestic and/or commercial systems.Ensure compliance with gas safety regulations and internal standards.Respond to emergency call-outs and perform remedial works where required.Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and audit purposes.Quality Management Duties:
Quality Planning: Develop and execute quality management plans for project delivery.Quality Assurance: Provide assurance to internal and external stakeholders that standards are met.Quality Control: Inspect and verify systems meet technical and regulatory specifications.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to improve service delivery and system performance.Auditing: Plan and conduct internal audits to assess quality system effectiveness.Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure quality objectives are aligned and achieved.Data Analysis: Collect and interpret quality-related data to identify trends and inform improvements.Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve technical and quality-related issues using a root cause approach.Promoting a Quality Culture: Actively promote best practices and a continuous improvement mindset across all levels of the team.Requirements:
Essential:NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.Current Gas Safe registration and valid ACS certifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT).Strong working knowledge of gas regulations and compliance requirements.Proven experience in quality assurance, control, or continuous improvement within engineering environments.Strong analytical and reporting skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.Full UK driving licence.Desirable:Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or equivalent quality management frameworks.Previous experience conducting internal audits and managing quality systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality data tools.Contract role with long-term potentialOpportunities to work on high-profile infrastructure or energy projectsA collaborative environment that values technical excellence and quality standards
