Youth Worker – Alternative Provision

Do you thrive on building meaningful relationships and supporting students who require a different approach to learning?We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Youth Worker to join an alternative provision setting, working with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your mission will be to re-engage learners, foster confidence, and equip them with the skills needed to transition successfully back into mainstream education.Key Responsibilities:Engage students through tailored activities, mentoring, and sports to create a supportive and positive learning environment.Build trust and act as a positive role model, helping students overcome barriers to education.Use inclusive and flexible approaches to encourage participation and progress.Support students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges with effective de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.Collaborate closely with teaching and support staff to maintain a structured and nurturing environment.What We’re Looking For:Experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or a related field.Proven ability to work with young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a calm and consistent approach.Patient, resilient, and adaptable – committed to making a lasting impact on young lives.Confident in managing challenging behaviours and providing emotional and pastoral support.
