Employer: Birmingham City CouncilPosition: Social Worker - Triage and Section 42 TeamLocation: Birmingham, UKType: Full-time/Part-time, Hybrid WorkingSalary: Commensurate with ExperienceBirmingham City Council is seeking passionate and dedicated Social Workers to join our Triage and Section 42 team. We have opportunities available for both Newly Qualified Social Workers and those with up to two years or more of experience in the field.Role Overview:
As a Social Worker in our Triage and Section 42 team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable individuals within our community. You will be responsible for assessing and managing cases referred to the team, ensuring that appropriate interventions are implemented to safeguard children and adults at risk.Key Responsibilities:Conducting assessments and investigations into safeguarding concerns.
Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, their families, and other professionals.
Providing support and guidance to service users to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Collaborating with partner agencies and professionals to coordinate multi-disciplinary support.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
Requirements:Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within a social care setting, including placements for Newly Qualified Social Workers.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and the Care Act.
Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
