You will have the opportunity to work across all levels of engineering, science and research and learn from a welcoming, talented team around you.Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!The OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a Senior water quality scientist / modeller, with a focus on project delivery and leadership in wastewater/storm-water and river health, to enhance our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about rivers and the whole environment from source to sea, from mountain to city. We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and novel, low carbon technology.You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance. These include wastewater and stormwater catchment studies (including WINEP/NEP and SOAF), nature-based regenerative solutions of all kinds, flood risk and river health analysis, civil structures, wastewater and stormwater treatment, and environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks.You will be given the opportunity to specialise or gain a more varied experience; you can shape and grow your own future with us. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to be part of the team delivering the solutions. You will lead technical projects, ranging from initial studies to detailed design, and work closely with our clients to deliver successful outcomes. You will be a key part of our water quality team and will be encouraged and supported to lead and develop a team of junior engineers, modellers and scientists around you.We would like to speak with people who:
  • Have skill in developing water quality models of rivers and coasts for water companies and/or environment agencies, preferably linked to wastewater networks and treatment facilities.
  • Have delivered or supported wastewater/stormwater solutions for Water Companies and/or environment agencies
  • Experience reviewing water quality models for your team, or external parties along with overseeing and working with specialists such as process engineers, MEICA, and hydraulic modellers
  • Have a background in science and/or engineering, with the ability to lead, manage and deliver successful projects
  • Have skills in managing data analytics; understand how we manage data, analyse it, create insight and help ensure we present meaningful results to clients which can inform decisions.
  • Hold a recognised professional qualification, or be very close to achieving one.
