The Design department is seeking a meticulous and seasoned professional to play a pivotal role in enhancing and administering GD&T best practices.As the Senior Design Engineer, your primary focus will be to refine and implement the GD&T and Tolerance Stack Process and Guidelines, ensuring that they align with the company's ambitious business goals. You will collaborate with the Head of Design and engage with various Engineering Teams, becoming a key figure in driving the design quality and precision.Your responsibilities will include chairing dimensional reviews, conducting product stack-ups that encapsulate design intent, and crafting training materials to disseminate knowledge on the application of GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up. You will also be instrumental in the review process, utilising tools such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or Adobe to verify and adjust drawings, guaranteeing that cost, manufacturing, and quality considerations are integrated into the dimensions and tolerances.The role extends to interdepartmental collaboration to meet cost, manufacturing capability, and quality targets, as well as contributing to the growth of the Design Group through the establishment of process controls and guidelines. Mentorship and team development may also fall under your remit, showcasing your leadership and guidance capabilities.The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree or demonstrate equivalent expertise through a robust track record. Your background may be in design or manufacturing, with a versatile skill set adaptable to mechanical, composite, and electrical systems. Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter is essential, and familiarity with CATIA V5 is advantageous.
