
SEN Teaching Assistant

- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes for students with special educational needs
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their specific learning needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to supporting students
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the needs of individual students
- Encourage and support students to develop their independence, social skills, and self-esteem
- Assist with the maintenance of a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students with diverse needs
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant subject
- Makaton or other sign language training
- Experience using specific interventions or strategies to support students with SEN
- First Aid certification
