Full time SEN Teaching Assistant required for our client - a highly respected school in Guildford, Surrey. They are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Full time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to provide essential support to students with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential. The salary for this position ranges from £13.80 to £15.80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes for students with special educational needs
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on their specific learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to supporting students
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the needs of individual students
  • Encourage and support students to develop their independence, social skills, and self-esteem
  • Assist with the maintenance of a safe and inclusive learning environment
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students with diverse needs
  • Proficiency in using technology to support learning
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant subject
  • Makaton or other sign language training
  • Experience using specific interventions or strategies to support students with SEN
  • First Aid certification
