🕘 Agency Role | Flexible StartReady to lead impactful change in SEND services? We're looking for an experienced SEND Case Manager to join a forward-thinking Local Authority in the North West. This is a crucial interim role focused on managing a backlog of EHC needs assessments, driving performance, and ensuring children and young people receive the support they deserve.👇 Key Highlights of the Role
- 📈 Productivity Target: 8 draft EHCPs per week
- 💬 Proactively manage communication with families and stakeholders
- ✅ Ensure all statutory responsibilities are met in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice 2015
- 🌍 Champion a person-centred, inclusive approach across all processes
You'll lead and support various SEND functions, including:
- Assessment and Annual Review Teams
- Tribunals and SEND Finance
- Monitoring performance data, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements
- Collaborating with key partners: schools, social care, health, Parent Carer Forums, and internal development teams
- Producing detailed reports for the DfE and internal stakeholders
- Driving process improvement and ensuring statutory compliance
We're looking for a confident and strategic leader with:
✅ Proven success in leading improvements in local SEND systems
✅ Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and LA responsibilities
✅ Senior leadership experience in multi-disciplinary teams
✅ Experience working with schools and education settings
✅ Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
✅ A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
✅ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to create and interpret complex reports🔑 Key Deliverables
- Lead the SEND team in line with strategic priorities
- Implement SOPs and ensure financial/data accuracy
- Drive improvement in KPI performance (corporate and DfE targets)
- Support SEND sufficiency planning across the city
- Strengthen partnerships with education, social care, and health services
