Job descriptionAssistant Head of Year📍 Location: Manchester📅 Start Date: Sept 25 | End Date: 18th July 2026💼 Contract: Full-Time, Temporary💰 Daily Rate: £105 – £120🕗 Hours: 8am – 4pm, Monday to FridayThis role would suit a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant or Pastoral Support Worker who thrives when supporting young people.Your main responsibility will be managing the school’s “on-call” system – responding to behavioural incidents across the school as they arise. This means you’ll be constantly on the move, called upon to de-escalate disruptions and support teaching staff in maintaining a calm learning environment.To thrive in this position, you’ll need to be:✔️ Calm under pressure✔️ Adaptable to changing situations✔️ A skilled and confident communicatorExperience with pastoral or behavioural intervention is highly desirable, especially within an “on-call” capacity, but not essential. Training and support will be provided.What We’re Looking For:✅ Proven experience working with young people (references required)✅ Up-to-date Safeguarding & Prevent training (within the last 12 months)✅ Experience managing challenging behaviour and delivering appropriate interventionsTo Apply:You must:
