Maintenance Engineer

- Responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance work; including breakdowns and planned maintenance to the site machinery and process.
- Attend breakdowns and keep machinery down-time to a minimum.
- Responsible for completion of PPM tasks and daily checks in a timely manner.
- Work with our CMMS system, completing work orders, Planned Maintenance, and requesting/booking out spares.
- Help and assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.
- Ensure all work carried out adheres to the Company's food standard practices and health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining tools and equipment to a safe working condition.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Operations Team.
- Maintain workplace precautions suitable to the working environment and as identified in risk assessments.
- Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorisation are brought to the attention of their immediate superior.
- Assist with moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers where necessary.
- Experience in an FMCG, chilled environment.
- Multi Skilled Electrical/Mechanical.
- Apprenticeship trained and tested - ONC/HNC.
- Understanding of refrigeration systems a bonus.
- Ability to use a CMMS system.
- Previous experience of working with packing machinery.
- Strong knowledge of bearings, pneumatics, electrical control systems, process control, fault diagnosis and safety systems, Cooling/ Refrigeration systems.
- Excellent health and safety awareness.
- Experienced in completing routine checks and identifying preventative measures.
- Willingness to work flexibly as part of a rotating shift system.
