- oRegistered Podiatrist with Health and Care Professions Council
- oBSc (Hons) Podiatry / Diploma in Chiropody/Podiatry
- oPost graduate experience of diabetes wound management
- oCertificate in administration of local anaesthetic
- oPrescribing qualification either independent or supplementary
- oPost-graduate qualification in diabetes wound management or diabetes module
- oIRMER Certificate
- oMentorship qualification
- oExcellent communication skills both verbal and written
- oIn depth knowledge of NICE guidelines for diabetes
- oIn depth knowledge of National Service Framework for Diabetes
- oKnowledge of developing, auditing, monitoring and evaluating protocols/guidelines and procedures
- oAbility to provide day to day supervision and delegation to Health Care Assistants and Assistant practitioners
- oAbility to produce training packages on wound care for departmental staff and other health care professionals
- oAbility to disseminate information on specialist area to departmental staff and other health care professionals via presentations and newsletters
- oExcellent time management and organisational skills
- oLeadership skills
- oAbility to work independently and as part of a team
- oKnowledge of Musculoskeletal interventions in the prevention of foot ulceration
- oKnowledge of off- loading strategies for the prevention of pressure ulcerations
- oKnowledge of vascular interventions and investigations
- oIT skills
- oUnderstanding of Research skills
- oAbility to cope with a varied workload
- oPresentation skills
- oUse of casting techniques in wound management.
