- Coordinate start-to-finish export processes for both air and sea freight shipments.
- Prepare and manage all shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, air waybills, export declarations, and commercial invoices.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, export controls, and legal requirements.
- Arrange collections, worldwide transport, and final deliveries in line with customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor shipments proactively and keep customers fully updated throughout the process.
- Respond promptly to customer queries, resolving any operational or documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems (both electronic and paper-based) to meet compliance standards.
- Support billing and finance by preparing invoices, updating client databases, and tracking shipments.
- Assist with ad-hoc administrative duties, including generating and distributing documentation.
- Previous experience in export freight forwarding with a UK-based forwarder (air and/or ocean essential).
- Solid knowledge of export shipping documentation and customs clearance processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience in project freight, breakbulk, or OOG cargo is desirable but not essential.
