Description and requirementsSkanska, one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.We are looking for an Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our infrastructure team to support Anglian Water projects across Peterborough.What you'll do:
  • Responsible for environmental compliance across all major aspects - water, waste, noise/vibration and ecological
  • Provide environmental compliance advice to various teams including design, construction, procurement, subcontractors, and suppliers on practical implementation of contract policies.
  • Manage and mentor the development of project Environmental Advisors.
  • Assist the Environmental Lead in developing and implementing the Environmental Management Plan and other site-specific control measures.
  • Undertake internal and external environmental audits and inspections, including those for suppliers and waste contractors.
  • Deliver suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff.
  • Drive awareness for and delivery against contract targets, particularly reducing Carbon emissions, improving materials efficiency, and achieving no-net loss in biodiversity.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Degree level in appropriate Environmental or relevant discipline or equivalent (eg NVQ)
  • Several years' construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector
  • Minimum Practitioner Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership
