MED230225Applications are invited for a Research Associate/Fellow, based in the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), to work on the NIHR-funded Lived Experience Narratives in Dementia (LEND) programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, mixed-methods study that champions inclusive, ethical and co-produced research with people living with dementia and their carers.You will work across the first three Work Packages of the LEND programme, which include qualitative interviews, surveys, focus groups, and a feasibility trial. A critical focus of the role is engaging underserved and minoritised communities and upholding the autonomy, dignity and human rights of people with dementia.You will work closely with Professor Martin Orrell (CI), Dr Linda O’Raw (PM) and an established interdisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians and public contributors. Your role will involve research planning, participant engagement, supporting advisory panel meetings, dissemination, and contributing to publications and future research bidsThe post-holder will join the School of Medicine’s vibrant research environment and be embedded within the IMH, Jubilee Campus. The LEND team includes experienced researchers, clinicians, and public advisors with expertise in dementia care, co-production, and inclusive methods. - A PhD (or near completion) in a relevant area such as Psychology, Mental Health, or Social Sciences.
- Experience in qualitative and/or mixed methods research.
- A demonstrable commitment to co-production and ethical research practices.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- An understanding of the lived experience of dementia and the importance of human rights.
