Having this strong team of employees, we can serve those who really need our product to make their lives better.We are looking for an ambitious and bright Junior-Mid Backend Engineer who is eager to build and run services in our Payments domain. If you're looking for a company where you can grow fast both professionally and personally, you might have just found one!The Payments team builds the core systems behind money movement at TransferGo. Their work ensures that payments are fast, reliable, and secure. The team also develops internal tools to support operational teams working with these systems day-to-day.Current and past projects include integrating with Open Banking and card payment providers, building connections with global partners to send money to bank accounts, digital wallets, and cash, tracking live FX exposure, and managing the configuration of payment rails across different markets.Being part of the Payments engineering team means having a direct and measurable impact on both revenue and customer trust. Engineers on this team solve complex problems while building systems that power real-time transactions across the globe. It's a fast-moving, high-impact domain that offers both technical challenges and meaningful business outcomes. Team members also get the opportunity to work closely with major banks and leading fintech companies.Here's what you'll be doing as a Backend Engineer:
  • Help to design, build, and operate services in a cloud-native, service-oriented environment, which will be used by multi-platform applications and hundreds of thousands of users;
  • Enjoy a great level of end-to-end autonomy, contributing to system design, implementation approach and production operations of your services. We truly believe in the “Builders mindset”;
  • Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to build modern and scalable software;
  • Work in a team of strong professionals - a great chance to learn from senior software engineers, engineering and product managers.
  • Work with other FinTechs and banks to integrate their products with TransferGo.
You'll report to our Engineering Manager.Here are some of our core tools helping us to get the job done:
  • Runtime: PHP 8, Symfony 6
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, SQS/SNS
  • CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins
  • Data: MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, S3
  • Test: PHPUnit

  • You have experience with microservice architecture;
  • You have experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD);
  • You worked with large-scale distributed and event-driven systems;
  • You have deployed backend applications at scale, with AWS or a similar provider;
  • You enjoy building products used by people;
  • You are a good communicator and can use English effectively at work;
  • You are enthusiastic about technology and best engineering practices;
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and are willing to help us find the best solutions;
  • You are passionate about growing your knowledge in scaling fintech companies.
