- Keep systems up to date: Help maintain and improve our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System by making updates when laws or best practices change.
- Support training: Assist in creating materials for HSE training sessions and awareness campaigns.
- Promote safe behaviours: Help roll out our behavioural safety programme ‘BRAVE’ to encourage safer working across all levels of the business.
- Carry out inspections: Conduct safety audits and site inspections with managers to ensure legal and company standards are met, and suggest ways to improve.
- Investigate incidents: Help investigate and record close calls, near misses, and other safety incidents to learn from them and reduce future risks.
- Act professionally: Carry out your duties honestly and responsibly, following the principles of health and safety professionalism.
- Monitor and analyse data: Help manage HSE data, spot trends, and support the team in developing actions to address any issues identified.
- Support wellbeing: Contribute to creating and delivering campaigns that promote occupational health and wellbeing across the company.
- Support tender work: Assist the HSE Manager by providing health and safety information for tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires.
- Deliver business strategy: Help put into action the health and safety aspects of the company’s overall business strategy.
- Follow professional standards: Fully cooperate with IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and follow their rules and professional guidelines.
- A motivated and proactive individual with a genuine interest in health, safety and wellbeing.
- Someone with experience in construction & Civil engineering background with a Tier 1 contractor
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ideally, you will be working towards or already hold a NEBOSH qualification and be a member of IOSH.
