- Driving the brand forward in jewellery product design, maintaining and increasing our positioning as an affordable luxury brand
- Designing on brand, innovative products and concepts that are visually attractive using targeted research, anticipation of trends and understanding of brand heritage
- Leading on the making of 3D CAD models for new jewellery and accessories designs
- Mentoring both Midweight Designers and Junior Designers within the team to ensure clear communication of projects and enhance their knowledge of CAD (Matrix)
- Taking full ownership of your work, being responsible for delivering jewellery and accessories from concept to delivery by:
- Providing technical specifications and liaising with factories to ensure products are to a high quality and consistent in delivery to final customer
- Working closely with Buying to ensure products are coming in on target and in our pricing architecture
- Ensuring end-to-end delivery of all of our jewellery and accessories
- Thoroughly checking own work and junior members of team's work ensuring attention to detail is to the highest standard & organizational skills are being adhered to fully
- Checking all samples against specs to ensure suppliers have made to specification and modify based on Creative Director and Senior Design Managers sign off
- Taking responsibility for spec sheet sign off on all designs, helping to mentor and manage Mid-Weight and Junior Designers to deliver a first-time right spec sheet and sample
- Going above and beyond to implement individual/team processes that will strongly benefit the design process and proactively managing these ideas
- Using your excellent knowledge and confidence in using all adobe programs to create final visuals and range plans
- Using your excellent knowledge of Matrix Gold CAD design software to final CAD files for all jewellery samples
- Using your excellent awareness of competitors within the jewellery, gifting, fashion accessories and personalisation industry, updating the team on a monthly basis with findings and suggestions
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the brand's product development strategy and collaborate with the team to ensure projects and products are delivered on time and in-line with company schedule
- Working closely and collaboratively with Senior Packaging Designer to innovate new creative concepts
- Managing and mentoring junior members of the team, being a great example of brand representation and vision to the other designers; always inspiring, engaging and motivating the team
- Being the benchmark for design standards to Mid-Weight and Junior Designers, building systems and methods to optimise the design process whilst always identifying and maximising team potential and performance to create high-quality products
- Preparing daily/weekly reports to Senior Design Manager, outlining current statuses and detailing progress of all live projects
- Developing and driving new personalisation offerings with innovation at forefront always and communicate these ideas with relevant teams within company to deliver successful implementation and ensure we are at the forefront of personalisation
- Presenting concepts and ideas to the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager regularly throughout the design season and clearly communicate the progress of all development ensuring the team are on track with targets
- Ensuring critical paths are being maintained to a high standard
- Maintaining direct relationships with other teams and departments and support where needed on projects that need knowledge from a product point of view
- Supporting with other brands owned by the company
- Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Company
- Design qualification preferably in jewellery, fashion, CAD or product design with a passion and enthusiasm related to fashion and lifestyle products
- 2-3 years' experience in Mid-Weight or above in product design, preferably within jewellery, fashion and accessories brand, with proven ability to deliver designs from creative concept to final product
- Experience in jewellery product design, from ideation to creation
- A proven track record of managing processes and people to effectively deliver high-quality products within deadlines
- Experience coaching and mentoring others to enhance junior team members performance
- Strong visual communication skills as well as excellent proficiency in Creative suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Advanced knowledge of Matrix Gold CAD software
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to demonstrate an exceptional level of accuracy in both written correspondence and numeracy
- Experience of working in a fast paced, pressurised environment and a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
- Able to work pro-actively within a team coupled with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
- A positive, can-do attitude and excellent team working skills
