We’re focusing on the future—investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone, including you!About this OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) Platform as a Design Tooling & Cancara OS Product Owner in the Experience Systems Lab.This new role is responsible for building, configuring, and managing the design tooling & systems ecosystem — enabling designers and developers to deliver branded experiences consistently across all technologies and channels. Working in close collaboration with BMX Experience Design to understand the strategic direction and priorities you’ll own the delivery and development of the design technical ecosystem. At its core, this role helps democratise experience delivery at scale through reliable, efficient, and well-governed tools — all as part of our Cancara Operating System.In this varied role you’ll be accountable for:Continuously evolving design tooling– As PO you’re accountable for understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by the design community, then designing and developing the capabilities to solve these, ensuring alignment with Cancara OS and the wider experience ecosystem.Own Configuration and Technical Management – Maintain and optimise design platforms (e.g. Figma, Adobe), managing system settings, integrations, and access controls.Govern User Access and Standards – Ensure secure, well-governed access to tooling, supporting appropriate usage, licensing, and version control across teams.Enable Design System Automation – Implement and maintain technical structures (such as tokens, component libraries, and style systems provided by Experience Design) to support scalable design system use.Integrate Tooling into Developer Workflows – Work with engineering teams to ensure seamless handoff and compatibility between design tools and buildSupport Adoption and Technical Enablement – Deliver onboarding, documentation, and guidance to ensure tools are used effectively by designers and developers.Contribute to Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency across the tooling ecosystem, in partnership with Experience Design.About YouYou bring deep expertise as a product owner, leading design tooling & systems strategy, ensuring seamless collaboration and automation across teams. Your experience includes:Agile delivery and product ownership – You have desmontrable years experience of being a product owner, leading multiple software development teams, managing and coaching your teams and being accountable for owning & managing the teams backlog and delivering products with an iterative, agile approach.Design Tooling Leadership – Skilled in selecting, integrating, and evolving tools that streamline design workflows across applications.Systems Development & Automation – Experienced in building and configuring automated design systems, ensuring consistency in standards across CancaraOS.Design Platform Management – Able to assess, manage, and optimise design applications like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe tools within the organisation.Agile & Scalable Frameworks – Ability to define scalable design system architectures, integrating with development workflows for optimal efficiency.Data & Experimentation in Design – Proven track record of using data-driven experimentation to improve design tooling and system usability.Cross-Functional Collaboration – Strong in fostering partnerships between designers, engineers, and product owners to enhance tooling capabilities.Governance & Compliance – Expertise in setting governance models, ensuring alignment with accessibility standards, security policies, and operational best practices.End-User Training & Adoption – Passionate about educating teams, driving adoption, and ensuring optimal use of design tooling across teams.About working for usOur focus is to ensure we are inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
