This is a chance to work on large-scale, meaningful systems while advancing your technical career in automation.This role is ideal for a hands-on Software Engineer in Test with strong Python experience and a passion for quality, automation and collaboration. You’ll be a key part of an agile engineering team developing automation tests for a next-generation patient monitoring platform deployed in hospitals worldwide.This is a hybrid position with 2–3 days a week in the Edinburgh office.Key responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain automated tests and frameworks using PythonCollaborate with development, systems and hardware teams to ensure full test coverageDerive test cases from complex software and system requirementsParticipate in technical discussions and sprint planning sessionsContribute to improvements in test strategy, CI pipelines and toolingDebug and troubleshoot test failures and work cross-functionally to resolve issuesSupport software verification, documentation and compliance processesSkills and experience required:Strong background in test automation and software developmentProficient programming skills in PythonExperience developing tests for integrated systems or distributed platformsFamiliarity with CI/CD and Agile practicesSolid understanding of test frameworks, scripting, and modern development environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)What’s on offer:25 days annual leave plus public holidays, rising to 27 days after 5 years and 29 after 10 yearsBirthday off every year2 additional paid days off for moving houseLife insurance from day one (4x base salary)2 paid charity days each year6% employer pension contributionEnhanced maternity and paternity payHealthcare cash planCycle to work schemeElectric car leasingAccess to EdenRed employee discount platformWorking pattern:Hybrid working model with 2–3 days per week onsite in the Edinburgh office.
