Account Handler/Bookkeeper | Burgess Hill, West Sussex | Full Time – Office Based | £28,000-£35,000 per annum (negotiable commensurate with experience)Are you ready to join the dynamic team at a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming accountants' office?   • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Technician in an accountancy practice
  • Proficient in using accounting software, such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Iris or similar
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices
  • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential
What will your role look like?
  • Record and process financial transactions for clients, such as sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliation
  • Ensure that transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers and journals, following accounting standards and principles
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll taxes and other statutory returns for clients
  • Assist accountants with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns and other financial reports for clients
  • Communicate with clients and respond to their queries and requests
  • Maintain and organise accounting files and documents
  • Performing other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required
