Ref: 805010We have an opportunity for an Accountant within a well-established accountancy practice at its offices on the outskirts of Wokingham. This firm enjoys a high staff retention and is recruiting to build the team. The role will be within a friendly team, predominantly working on a mixed portfolio of SME clients.The firm is ideally looking for a qualified, experienced Accountant, however, it would consider applications from Accounts Assistants with a lower level of experience, at the lower end of the salary range advertised.The successful candidate will bring with them, significant experience from a similar role within a practice environment, and whilst the position is advertised as full time, part time would be considered for the right person.As Accountant the main functions of this role will include:
- Accounts preparation for SME clients (FRS 102 Section 1a & FRS 105)
- Assisting the VAT team with the preparation of quarterly management accounts and VAT returns
- Give advice to clients on salary and dividends
- Assist with Personal Tax Returns (experience desired but not essential)
- Be the first point of contact for allocated clients, responding to various client enquiries in an accurate and timely manner
- Develop an ongoing, effective relationship with clients and ensure retention of clients
- Working within a team to ensure deadlines are met and be able to work independently
- Be qualified or an exceptional qualified by experience accountant - part qualified would be considered for applicants at Accounts Assistant level
- Have significant experience gained within practice
- Have a solid experience of accountancy software e.g. Sage, IRIS, FreeAgent, Kashflow and other online bookkeeping software
- Be an amiable team player
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be highly organised with attention to detail
