Development Designer – POS / POP IndustryGlencourt Associates is working with a reputable organisation in the East Midlands, specialising in the supply of POS and POP displays within the temporary and permanent display industry. Our client operates in a fast-paced environment experiencing significant growth over the past 24 months and is seeking an experienced Development Designer to join their dynamic development team.Role OverviewAs a Development Designer, you will be pivotal in transforming creative concepts into tangible, production-ready solutions. Your expertise in SolidWorks will facilitate the realisation of innovative display designs, ensuring they meet structural, safety, and branding standards.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 3D and 2D CAD models for POS displays using SolidWorks.
  • Interpret creative briefs and translate them into functional designs.
  • Collaborate with account managers, creatives, suppliers, and production teams to guarantee feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create technical drawings, assembly guides, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Prototype and test design solutions, iterating as necessary.
  • Source suitable materials and production methods aligned with budget and design requirements.
  • Support onsite installation and builds where needed.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure accurate production timelines and outputs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Conduct site surveys as required and contribute to team efforts fostering a culture of collaboration and professionalism.
  • Report risks proactively to facilitate timely business responses.
  • Support and mentor team members, promoting growth and development.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Development Design within the POS / POP industry.
  • Sound knowledge of SolidWorks and experience with both temporary and permanent POS displays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, with a focus on prioritisation.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly MS Office suite.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong numeracy skills.
  • Able to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Target-driven, independent, and capable of working efficiently within a team environment.
