- Directly manage payroll for the northern atmosphere ensuring:
- Employee data is correctly loaded, maintained and always up to date in the payroll systems and all relevant information is provided to third party payroll providers on time.
- High degree of accuracy is maintained for earnings and deductions for each individual employee, to ensure all staff details for the pay run are accurate and complete.
- All pay runs are completed within set deadlines with sufficient time given for review, adjustments, and processing.
- Adequate and timely reporting is provided to the business and third parties, as required.
- Monthly accounting for payroll is completed accurately and within monthly deadlines, including posting of pay run journals, leave liabilities accrual, payroll cost variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Effectively partner with third-party payroll providers and payroll contractors, to ensure accurate processing of each pay run, and ongoing monitoring and improvement of shared processes.
- Effectively partner with the People Experience team regarding key strategic deliverables such as year-end pay review and gender pay reporting as well as ensuring accuracy of employees’ data on regular basis.
- Manage compliance of any payroll related tax filings, including but not limited to PSA and P11D, and any other payroll related obligations.
- Perform regular checks on payroll data and drive payroll process improvements locally as well as globally ensuring consistency where possible.
- Provide backup and assistance to the wider finance team as required.
- Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team regarding the payroll function.
- Be responsive to the internal business queries in a reasonable timeframe.
- Effectively partner with the Payroll Officer for the southern hemisphere to ensure coverage of payroll and global consistency.
- In addition to this you are required to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your manager.
- Minimum of 5 years payroll experience in United Kingdom running in-house payroll
- Excellent understanding of statutory requirements and payroll legislations.
- Exposure to ESOP pay-out and related payroll compliances.
- Problem solving ability, analytical, numeracy and excellent reconciliation skills.
- Intermediate-Advanced knowledge in MS Excel including creating pivot tables, v-look ups and any other necessary functions.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts in relation to payroll and reconciliation of payroll accounts, as well as exposure working with foreign currencies and cost centres.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and relationships with stakeholders across different time zones.
