School Caretaker – West YorkshireSalary/Rate: £12.50–£14.50 per hour (depending on experience) | Full-TimeWe are looking for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in West Yorkshire. The role will involve maintaining the school site to a high standard, ensuring a safe, secure, and clean environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.The Role:Carry out daily site checks, ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe and well maintained.Undertake minor repairs and maintenance (e.g. painting, fixing equipment, basic plumbing).Oversee cleaning, waste disposal, and general upkeep of facilities.Open and lock up the school site, ensuring security procedures are followed.Support with health and safety compliance, including fire alarm tests and risk assessments.Liaise with contractors and support staff where necessary.Requirements:Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role (school setting desirable).Basic knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and health and safety.A proactive and practical approach to problem solving.Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).What’s On Offer:Competitive hourly rate (£12.50–£14.50 per hour).A long-term role with the possibility of becoming permanent.The chance to play a key role in keeping a school community safe and welcoming.If you’re a practical, hands-on individual who takes pride in keeping environments safe and well maintained, we’d love to hear from you.Apply today to secure your next Caretaker role in a West Yorkshire school.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
