Find out more below!JOB SUMMARYThis role is a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, supporting our operations strategy by creating a safe environment, driving quality, supporting on time customer delivery and meeting cost reduction commitments.The role is based at our Cheltenham site and will be working closely with production and other supporting functionsBASIC FUNCTIONThis position will focus on the delivery of the lean roadmap for the manufacturing site by owning projects to enhance customer value and reduce waste using proven tools for process improvement.The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a high level of urgency and can evidence a structured project management approach.Knowledge and use of process improvement methodology, process standardisation and the development or use of quality systems and lean tools will be a key competency.Other focuses will be to utilise process improvement techniques to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs throughout the operation.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and drive the Continuous Improvement Strategy for the area of responsibility by applying Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, No Fault Forwards, Flow, Pull, TPM, VSM, Kaizen, Problem Solving, Visual Management) to achieve or exceed the facility goals for efficiency and cost.
- Drive Lean Process Design and Problem Solving capabilities.
- Support communication of key projects in a consistent, coherent and timely manner.
- Support and coach the Continuous Improvement teams as necessary, including the facilitation of Kaizen events.
- Drive, develop and support a robust CI roadmap linking to the business strategy delivering on SQDCP.
- Input to the capital plan requirements for the plant, aligning capital to continuous improvement projects.
- Support the existing manufacturing processes and objectives through scrap, efficiency, downtime, and cost reduction efforts.
- Support training and development of associates to enhance skill sets.
- Drives key metrics for the organisation which are measurable to a strategic goal. Monitors the results to ensure continuous improvements are maintained to sustain benefits for the long-term.
- Drive the adoption of best practices that are developed across the division. Establishes and maintains relationships with the leadership team and process owners to align objectives and remove obstacles for process improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Five or more years of relative work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience of continuous improvement project implementation.
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
