Hours of work: Full-TimeSince its formation our client has grown into a world-class, quality-focused precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. With a strong customer-focused approach, they have continually evolved their extensive product range to meet the needs of civil infrastructure, agriculture, and building sectors across the UK and Ireland.They are now seeking a Civil Manager to work efficiently and lead the Civil Sales team, driving the company’s vision forward while maximising sales opportunities to achieve both sales and gross profit targets.Duties will include:
  • Drive sales performance and achieve revenue targets in the civil engineering and construction materials sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders within the civil engineering industry.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, expanding the customer base and strengthening the company’s position in the market.
  • Work closely with internal teams and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless delivery of services.
  • Provide precise cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects to support competitive and profitable tender submissions.
  • Lead the bid and tendering process to secure new projects, ensuring all submissions align with client requirements and company standards.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clarity and efficiency in the estimating and bidding processes.
  • Support business development by identifying trends, opportunities, and strategies to enhance the company’s market position.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of civil engineering products, solutions, and services to effectively communicate benefits to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, bids, and proposals in response to client inquiries and project requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure favourable terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Provide post-sale support to ensure client satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, market insights, and forecasts to line Manager .
  • Lead, motivate, and train sales teams to achieve goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service
  • To participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Deputise as needed for the Head of Sales & Marketing
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Head of Sales & Marketing
Essential Criteria: * Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience, leading sales teams or similar.
  • Strong sales and estimating experience in the civil engineering/construction sector.
  • Ability to read drawings and bar schedules.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
