- Monitor system performance and support root cause analysis for technical issues or degradation.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, including reports, calculations, and engineering drawings.
- Contribute to design activities for in-service modifications and capability upgrades, from feasibility through to detailed design.
- Support ship trials, dry dockings, and refits to ensure successful implementation of engineering solutions.
- Prepare bid responses and ensure all work complies with MOD standards, classification society rules, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in engineering tools such as Ansys, MATLAB, MathCAD, Orcaflex, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD/Inventor, and MS Excel.
- Experienced in end-to-end project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and cross-disciplinary coordination using tools like MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of ship systems and design, covering propulsion, mooring, towing, anchoring, and onboard habitability systems.
- Skilled in systems engineering, with expertise in integrating complex subsystems into cohesive, functional designs.
- Experienced in hydrodynamic analysis, using Orcaflex and ANSYS Fluent to model marine environments and assess dynamic system behaviour.
- Degree (BSc, BEng, MSc, or MEng) in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related STEM discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with RINA or an equivalent professional institution, or actively working towards registration
