ABC Teachers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant to work full-time at an SEN Primary School in Coventry on a full time basis.About the role:
  • Providing individualised support to students with SEN including autism and speech, language and communication needs.
  • Working alongside a class teacher and a team of experienced support staff to assist with the general day-to-day running of the classrooms.
  • Building a quick rapport with the students to support students educational, social and emotional development.
  • Offering 1-1 or small group support, aiding in academic tasks, social interactions and behaviour management.

About you:
To be considered for the Classroom Assistant, you will:
  • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked after children.
  • Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
