
Community Engagement Lead

- Support the ongoing development of the Club’s community engagement strategy, including identifying and progressing new opportunities identified by the club’s community committee
- Ensure all community initiatives reflect the Club’s values and uphold its reputation as a socially responsible organisation
- Act as a key point of contact between the Club and BFCCST to identify opportunities for collaboration on shared objectives
- Support BFCCST’s delivery of community programmes, including helping to coordinate player appearances, marketing support and communication
- Support the Community Outreach Officer to deliver and develop the club’s community outreach programme, meeting key KPIs and objectives
- Ensure that our fans are aware of the club’s community activities and are encouraged to participate to maximise their impact and support wider communication of this work to the wider football industry where appropriate
- Respond effectively to community-related enquiries, feedback and issues raised by local stakeholders
- Lead the organisation of community engagement group meetings with local residents and key stakeholders living around the Gtech, training ground and Wheatsheaf Park stadium
- Support the delivery of key community elements related to Section 106 planning obligations for the stadium and training ground developments
- Represent the Club at community events, forums and meetings to promote positive relationship and listen to community needs and concerns
- Maintain a database of community partners, activities and events and support the work to measure the social impact value of the Club’s community work
- Support the Head of Sustainability and Community and the Fan & Community Relations team in the delivery of key projects and initiatives as required
- To ensure compliance with all relevant Club policies, including safeguarding, health and safety policies and with specific reference to the data regulations (GDPR and PECR)
- To ensure compliance with the Club’s Code of Conduct
- To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements
- To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC
- To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel
- To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times
- To ensure compliance with all Matchday Safeguarding processes
- To ensure compliance with the Club’s Safeguarding Policy and processes
- To promote and support positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the Club both on and off the field
- To promote equity, diversity and inclusion at the Club, in line with our EDI strategy for collaboration on shared objectives

- Proven experience in a leadership role in community relations, outreach, or stakeholder engagement, ideally within sport, non-profit or public sectors
- A passion for football and a commitment to making a positive social impact
- Strong interest in and passion for community development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong project management skills with experience overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives
- Experience in staff line management and development
- Ability to work flexible times, for example evenings to attend community meetings or weekends on matchdays, as required
- Good working knowledge of the football industry
- Knowledge of the Premier League’s community frameworks and social responsibility initiatives
- Experience working with foundations or charities linked to professional sports organisations
- Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles
