- Form positive relationships with service users and provide an environment in which they feel safe and free from harm.
- Support service users gain self-control by rewarding positive behaviours and challenging unacceptable behaviour.
- Ensuring each care plan is followed and amended as required to reflect their changing needs.
- Assisting service users with practical matters such as accessing the community, independence skills development, cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Support to identify and attend social and leisure activities.
- Providing a positive role model able to offer advice, guidance, and assistance where appropriate.
- A minimum of six months experience working within a similar environment is required for this role.
- Experience of supporting children and young person’s
- Thorough understanding of autism and learning disabilities and challenging behaviour
- Caring personality and nature
- Positive attitude and passion to help others.
- Basic IT and computer skills
