Network Architect responsible for key aspects of design, implementation and evolution of network architecture for the ESN programme. Role requires deep network technical expertise and strategic planning and leadership skills to ensure delivery of a mission critical, robust, highly resilient, scalable, secure and high-performing network solution. Candidates need to work closely with the IBM Design Authority team, Data Center Infrastructure Supplier and Security Teams to align the overall network approach and delivery.Responsibilties:
  • Network Architecture and Design for a mission critical system with on-prem network delivery
  • Network Approach and Delivery Management including inputting into programme plans
  • Technology Leadership
  • Security and Compliance
  • Integration with Cloud based solutions
  • Public Sector Standards and Compliance
  • Team Leadership and Compliance
  • Key Network High Level and Low-Level Design Documentation
Required Skills:
  • Proven track record in network architecture / engineering and network delivery on-prem and integration with Cloud solutions in a complex large scale programme
  • Expertise in routing, switching, load balancing, VPN, Data Center LAN, Data Center WAN, DNS and network segmentation
  • Familiarity with Network Automation and monitoring tooling
  • In-depth understanding of network security principles
  • Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, team leadership and communications skills
