Contract type: ​Fixed Term until 31/12/2025Salary: £41,360-£46,050 inclusive of London AllowanceLocation ​​Guildhall​We are seeking an experienced individual to support the City Remembrancer and their team.The Remembrancer’s Office promotes and supports the City of London by engaging with Parliament, in particular by providing briefings to MPs and Peers and making submissions to Parliamentary Committees on matters of relevance to the City of London.The Office is also responsible for events and hospitality organised on behalf of the City Corporation, including the Lord Mayor’s Banquet, and for use of the Guildhall by private bodies on a commercial basis.This role involves a broad and varied workload, with the postholder needing to work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues across a number of teams to deliver in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy and attention to detail are of crucial importance to a role dealing frequently with senior internal and external stakeholders, as is sound judgement as to how to assist the Remembrancer in organising and prioritising their time, including liaising with other members of the Departmental SLT.Main Responsibilities
  • To provide reactive and efficient support to the Remembrancer and act as the primary contact within the Remembrancer’s private office on the full range of incoming and outgoing correspondence, including invitations and diary requests.
  • Provide support on parliamentary and protocol functions of the office, and carry out research and draft briefings, reports, presentations and speaking notes where requested, across the breadth of the Department’s interests.
  • Build strong working relationships across the Department and wider Corporation – including at Member level and with central Guildhall departments.
This post is offered initially on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025. You will be based at the City Corporation’s offices at the Guildhall, Gresham Street, EC2.
