
Group Financial Controller

- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP.
- Deliver high-quality board and investor-level reporting, analysis, and insights
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for the group.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Lender reporting packs
- Prepare quarterly covenent calcuations and certificates
- Prepare monthly Investor reporting packs
- Provide adhoc reports and analysis as and when requested to the Investor
- Lead the production of statutory accounts for all legal entities across the group
- Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely completion of the annual audit
- Ensure full compliance with Companies House, HMRC, and other regulatory bodies
- Act as the group's technical accounting expert, advising on IFRS/GAAP matters and implementing new standards
- Maintain and enhance internal controls in line with best practices and audit requirements
- Lead production of annual budgets (3 statement model and covenant calculations) and quarterly reforecasts
- Production of in month P&L forecast for circulation to senior management and the board on a weekly basis
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing group finance team.
- Set clear objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and support professional development
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Ensure customers are invoiced in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring the customer and project data in the project management system (CMAP) is complete and accurate
- Oversee group tax compliance, including corporation tax, VAT, and transfer pricing in collaboration with advisors
- Support cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and banking relationships
- Management of group's FX exposure
- Preparation of rolling 13-week cashflow forecast
- Contribute to risk management and financial governance
- Support the CFO with strategic financial planning, M&A activity, and integration.
- Identify and implement initiatives that directly enhance EBITDA through cost optimisation, process improvement, and commercial insight
- Provide clear, forward-looking analysis to support strategic decisions, investment cases, and business transformation initiatives
- Evaluate, select and implement new systems
- (including AI and automation tools) to drive efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and lower operational costs across Finance and the wider business
- Lead finance transformation projects to modernise reporting, forecasting, and transaction processing
- Champion the use of data and technology to support decision-making and scale the business effectively
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post-qualification experience in a senior financial reporting role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP essential)
- Proven experience in the preparation of multi- currency complex group consolidations
- Proven experience in the preparation of acquisition accounts
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and non-UK corporation tax legislation requirements
- Prior experience managing foreign currency exposure and the use of fx management instruments
- Experience integrating acquisitions
- Demonstrable experience of using systems and automation to deliver operational efficiencies
