LJMU is seeking a talented and driven Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Department in a key and influential position.This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial future of a leading institution.What You’ll Be Doing:Reporting to the Finance Manager – Financial Accounts and Insurance, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a professional financial accounting service across the University and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include:
Statutory reporting in line the HE/FE Sorp, and OfS Accounts Direction
Leading on external audit
Tax compliance, including complex VAT and Corporate Tax, UK and overseas
Finance due diligence
Supporting cash flow forecasting
Interpreting complex financial and non-financial data
Partnering with colleagues across departments to support financial decision-making
What We’re Looking For:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA finalist or qualified
Degree or AAT qualified
Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
Experience in preparing complex financial statements and external audit
Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting standards
Experience with complex VAT returns and financial software
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
A proactive, hands-on team player with leadership potential
