Job AdvertSt Francis' Xavier Primary School, Early Learning and Childcare ClassPost ID ES2537**PLEASE NOTE THIS POST IS OPEN TO FALKIRK COUNCIL EMPLOYEES ONLY**An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Senior Early Years Officer (SEYO) to act as lead practitioner in providing high quality learning experiences for children aged 3-5 years at St Francis' Xavier Primary School, Early Learning and Childcare Class.Early learning and childcare is available for 5 days per week. The ELC Class operates 8.45am to 2.45pm Monday to Friday and is open term time only.Practitioner enquiry and professional learning are key features of our practice and our Early Years practitioners adopt a critically reflective approach. Our Senior Early Years Officer plays an important role leading improvement, modelling good practice and supporting a commitment to continuous professional learning. You will have a well-developed knowledge and understanding of current national guidance relating to early learning and childcare and will be able to evidence this in your practice. Experience in a senior role would be advantageous.Our ELC is set within large wooded school grounds and delivers a high quality, play based pedagogical approach. We have high expectations of our practitioners understanding and response to children's individual developmental stage of learning.You will hold as a minimum an HNC in Childcare and Education (or equivalent) allowing you to register as a practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) without conditions. You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and learning.If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.The position is full time (37 hours), term time and is permanent within Falkirk Council Children's Services. Please note that the salary will be adjusted accordingly for term time.The start date for this post is 12th August 2024.
