- Undertaking a first level review of documents to a high standard on all team core work types, with attention to detail, accuracy, and speed.
- Undertaking a quality check of the first level review of colleagues. Where appropriate, you will be required to provide constructive feedback to the individual, and/or feed back into the management team.
- Ability to analyse new instructions received into the team and take detailed instructions from fee earners and follow instructions, making suggestions to streamline the process to make it more efficient where appropriate.
- Being a team player, with the ability to work on your own initiative, but as part of the team to ensure that the team’s time is being effectively managed to meet deadlines of the existing workload.
- To train new members of the team on TLT systems, DRC ways of working on all work types.
- Serving as a link with the managers and delegating where necessary and appropriate.
- Communicating with client teams and external clients as required to ensure instructions are sought and followed.
- Reporting into management regularly on the progression of on-going work and to assist in managing the team’s day to day workloads when required.
- Managing your financial outputs carefully, and to encourage those around you to do the same, ensuring changes to time/cost/quality to the project are properly considered and managed.
- Financial auditing of matters worked on by you to ensure that matters have been set up to allow DRC time to be recorded accurately.
- Liaising with project mangers from eDiscovery providers and managing the ongoing relationship TLT has with them, flagging issues and working on improving systems.
- Using eDiscovery technology to a high level and that outside of a standard user.
- Assisting on training and advising on internal teams on the application and efficient use of technology.
- Use expertise and hands on experience with eDiscovery tools and other software to come up with solutions.
- Assisting on disclosure/investigation projects with the project management lead including scoping the process from review to following it through to production, ensuring that traction on matters continue to allow deadlines to be met.
- Extensive paralegal experience gained within a document review role.
- Proven ability to run own documents reviews to a high standard, with accuracy and minimal supervision.
- Proven technical abilities of the disclosure process.
- Proven technical ability to identify privilege.
- Proven technical ability to work on a data subject access request for any client or type to take the role as lead reviewer to liaise and update QC/second level closely. To support fully from scoping out the SAR to the production of the response.
- Sets high standards for performance and directs people with tasks with authority.
- Experience of drafting and maintaining precedents and training materials.
- Experience of using bespoke TLT systems, such as Collaborate and Kira.
- Experience of maintaining and building relationships with both internal and external clients and providers.
- Proven understanding and compliance of the financial aspect of the paralegal role, consistently taking personal reasonability for the project and monitoring the costs and WIP.
- Must have a general understanding of eDiscovery technology and its appropriate and effective application.
- Evidence of proactively using initiative to drive projects forward and keep them on track.
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationship with colleagues, clients as well as a drive for business development.
- Previous experience of supervision and/or overseeing the work of others, delegating, and providing feedback, addressing training requirements and identifying suitable resources to address training needs.
- Excellent communication and self-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
