Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance misuse and the people who care for them, family members and friends; as well as working with key partners to empower communities.Where: NorthamptonWhen: We are looking for the right person to get started as soon as possibleHours: 37.5 per weekSalary: £23,400.00 - £24,466.99 per hourResponsibilitiesAbout the role:
  • Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in open access area
  • Create links with local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services – those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them
  • Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions
  • Meet individuals within the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and to support families affected by drugs and alcohol to discuss their personal goals and support needs
  • Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies
  • Assist the Volunteer and peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice /support and recovery opportunities.
About you:
  • Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
  • Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users
  • Confident in working alone as well as part of a team
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available
