At Sweco we bring together experts with different perspectives and skills to develop solutions that address the challenges of urbanisation, harness the positive power of digitalisation and make societies more sustainable.Sweco Building Standards offers clients a class-leading regulatory & consultancy Building Standards service that is specifically co-ordinated to meet the responsibilities being imposed through the Building Safety Act and BCAR processes.We pride ourselves on our quality and technical expertise that underpins our full suite of services, our approach is to listen and engage with our clients to anticipate the regulatory issues that will need resolving and work in partnership to deliver a successful project.We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Technical Director based in our in London office to join our highly successful Building Control team.What does the role involve?The Technical Director is a senior technical role within the Building Control team. You will lead on large-scale, complex projects including healthcare, education and commercial high rise residential as well as ensuring that prospects, proposals and tenders are submitted in accordance with Sweco processes. You'll also help develop and monitor the technical team members by sharing experience and knowledge.Key deliverables will include:
  • Working in accordance with the Building Regulations, Building Act, Approved Documents, Building Control Performance Standards and RICS professional Standards.
  • Taking responsibility for contractual liability in the bids submitted.
  • Negotiating the risk profile within a contract to generate new business opportunities.
  • Attending and positively contributing to Board, Director meetings through the application of experience, independent thought and alignment with agreed strategy.
To be successful in this role you'll possess:
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB membership or equivalent.
  • The ability to influence and mentor.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
