- The Oaklins European Debt Advisory team is an experienced pan-European team of 40+ professionals.
- Takes responsibility for a small number of transactions and assisting Partners and Directors on larger or more complex transactions as required
- Delivery of key marketing materials in line with S&W quality standards which require minimal editing by senior team membersActive role in pitch meetings
- Responsible for managing and delegating tasks to junior team members on the transaction
- Leads discussions and positions him/herself as the main point of contact with the client on all matters
- Leads co-ordination of all parties (clients, lenders, diligence providers, lawyers)
- Leads client meetings and funders presentations when required
- Responsible for preparation of key terms sheets for lenders, with the support and input from senior team members
- Responsible for preparation of covenant models
- Takes an active role, with support from senior team members, on key negotiations or strategic aspects of the transaction
- Managing legal process through to completion
- Value add in business development, marketing activities and preparation of marketing materials
- Active professional networking including the widening and deepening of own professional network (such as lenders, lawyers and private equity providers)
- Assists on pitches for new work through proactive ideas, preparing documents and attending presentations as requested
- Becomes involved in relevant recruitment, training and staff development and other internal business management processes
- Promotion of S&W employer brand
- ACA / ACCA qualification preferred but not essential
- Clearly demonstrated relevant experience at Associate / Senior Associate (or similar) level or already operating at Associate Director level.
- Sources of information for research including use of Debtwire and Mergermarket required, with additional sources such as Pitchbook and Capital IQ highly favourable.
- Financial Modelling - clear understanding of financial models and responsibility for preparation of covenant models.
- Ability to apply financial principles to financial models.
- Analysis and interpretation of financial information.
- Report writing – drafting reports, pitch documents and marketing materials for review.
- Advanced use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Confident and enthusiastic in dealings with both clients, lenders and internally.
- Ability to take responsibility and ownership for significant parts of transactions, as well as managing key parties and junior team members.
- Demonstration of ability to build own personal network across lenders, lawyers and private equity.
