Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-timeAre you confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people’s learning?GSL Education are seeking a proactive and reliable Cover Supervisor to join schools in Rotherham (S61) immediately. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy maintaining classroom order and ensuring learning continuity in the absence of a regular class teacher.As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour, working closely with teaching staff to provide a positive and productive learning environment.Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
  • Supervise and engage students during short-term teacher absences.
  • Deliver lesson plans set by the class teacher across various subjects.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to senior staff promptly.
  • Provide general support to teaching departments when not covering classes.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional at all times.
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting students’ learning.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
