Responsibilities and dutiesReporting to the Head of Engineering you will:
- Coordinate technical project preparation for renewable energy plants and electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Select and support specialised external engineering firms to optimise project development efficiency.
- Contribute to the design of electrical infrastructure for generation plants and their integration into the electric network.
- Prepare documentation for grid access and connection applications, ensuring adherence to grid codes, and provide ongoing technical support during the consent process.
- Lead the coordination of technical standardisation initiatives across applicable regions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry norms.
- Evaluate and apply sector-specific best practices to optimise construction methodologies and operational procedures for renewable energy projects.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of projects from the engineering phase to construction teams, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to technical standards.
- Manage the coordination and validation of essential studies in collaboration with other technology units to mitigate construction risks effectively.
- Provide indispensable support for due diligence processes, leveraging expertise in local regulations, conducting thorough technical assessments, accurately estimating costs, and meticulously evaluating risks to ensure project viability and compliance.
- A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Wind and/or Solar PV Power Plants.
- Demonstrated experience in civil design, coordination, and planning within engineering teams and with external engineering companies.
- Proficiency in defining soil investigation campaigns and reviewing Geotechnical reports.
- Medium to high proficiency in Civil3D, with the ability to perform designs from scratch.
- Knowledge of drainage system design.
- Has the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multinational environment.
- A keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in work.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills to analyse data and make informed decisions.
- A problem-solving mindset with an open and adaptable attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and availability to travel frequently.
- Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience.
