- Provide professional and proactive advice on mechanical engineering services, including conducting condition surveys and preparing maintenance plans to support medium-term financial forecasting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, guidance, and best practices related to building services engineering and project management.
- Act as the authorised/responsible person or duty holder for mechanical services installations across the estate.
- Lead mechanical projects, ensuring service user and stakeholder requirements are thoroughly captured, challenged, confirmed, and documented.
- Contribute to feasibility studies by preparing initial design information and recommending specialist input where appropriate.
- Maintain and develop the estate's mechanical asset register, ensuring it remains a comprehensive and accurate record of all mechanical assets.
- Hold a degree in building services engineering or a related subject and be a member (or working towards membership) of a relevant mechanical professional body. Alternatively, demonstrate significant experience in building services engineering, with evidence of continuous professional development.
- Evidence of excellent planning and organisational skills to achieve set objectives.
- Ability to analyse problems and make effective decisions and resolutions.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a specialist team, providing relevant advice and guidance as needed, while also managing contractors and suppliers to ensure delivery of outcomes aligned with organisational requirements.
- Ability to understand and align organisational requirements from a wide range of stakeholders and effectively communicate those requirements and desired outcomes to contractors and service providers.
- Contract management experience.
- Experience in building mechanical compliance, engineering projects, and financial planning.
