Job Description:DevOps EngineerChester£70,000ShortList are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a very successful company based near Chester. You will focus on the design, maintenance and implementation of their Azure, AWS and GCP solutions and support their infrastructure.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and who wants to work in a hands-on role. You will be writing code for automation tasks such as GitHub workflows and using your knowledge to manage and build pipelines for their solutions. Working closely with the team, specifically their delivery team, the role will offer the opportunity to focus on automation and optimisation of their infrastructure roadmap.The key responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer:
  • Enhance and refine the current product stack, including Cloud Infrastructure, Web Applications and Data Platforms
  • Build automation pipelines to support delivery teams effectively
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation for both new and existing products
  • Develop automation solutions for operational products such as performance and monitoring capacity management, and disaster recovery.
  • Prioritize automation to increase efficiency, reduce human error, and minimise manual tasks
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous development (CD) by advocating for DevOps principles and practices, resulting in accelerated innovation and quicker time-to-market
  • Help upskill the wider team members.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience delivering and managing systems at scale within an AWS, GCP and Azure environment
  • Proficiency in designing and developing systems that leverage Azure, GCP and AWS services
  • Must have hands on experience using at least two of the big three cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proficiency with automation tasks such as GitHub Workflows.
  • Familiarity with common DevOps practices and methodologies
  • Exceptional understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) techniques
  • Practical knowledge of system architectures and networking
The DevOps Engineer has a remote first working policy with ad hoc office visits. You will also receive ongoing training, support and recognition to enable you to achieve progression goals.The DevOps Engineer role is based near Chester and is commutable from Wrexham, Wirral, Liverpool, Chester, Frodsham, North Wales, Crewe and Runcorn.
