If so, the opportunity at Randstad Student Support is an ideal match for your goals!As a Specialist mentor, you will engage on a one-to-one basis with higher education students, serving as their trusted advisor and providing support in areas where they require assistance alongside their studies. This encompasses factors affecting both their personal and academic lives, such as stress management, anxiety, and organisational skills.Responsibilities:As a specialist mentor you will be required to do the following when working one to one with students:
  • Help them to achieve an appropriate balance activities of everyday living and academic related tasks
  • Improve organisational skills such as time management
  • Assist students in preparing for their deadlines by breaking down tasks into smaller parts for them
  • Help to manage anxiety and cope with anxiety and stress caused by study related issues and/or everyday living.
  • Help students with reflecting on their own experiences
  • Improve students confidence by building on their existing strengths
  • Assist in preparing students for new experiences which they may be nervous going into
  • Work closely with Randstad ensure any concerns with students are communicated as soon as possible
  • Behave in a professional and confidential manner at all times
Requirements:This is a specialist role so you must have the following qualifications:
  • Holds a degree AND
  • Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules
  • Understanding autism
  • Autism and communication
  • Autism and sensory experience
  • Autism, stress and anxiety
  • Autism: supporting families
  • Autism and Girls
  • OR a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism
